Meta has now reconfigured their APIs and brought video views in Instagram Carousels back.
We are now implementing the changes into our analytics tools and are working on data backfill.

Original deprecation story
Original story about video views deprecations from Instagram Carousels.
The Instagram Carousel media type is no longer supporting the video views metric.
Meta did not communicate any changes affecting Instagram Carousel in advance but acknowledged (see the Meta support ticket for details) that they removed video views metric from Meta’s API for carousel posts.
As a result, video views data for Instagram Carousel have not been available since September 11, 2024.
Instagram Carousel now supports the following metrics:
impressions
reach
saved
comments
likes
profile_activity
profile_visits
shares
total_interactions
Impact in the Emplifi suite
Meta stopped providing video views for Instagram Carousels.
Content hub
The card metric will start to show 0 in the Video views field.
The table metric will start to show 0 in the Video views count column.
The table AVG (average) value will be incorrect in the Video views count column because it counts the carousel post.
The content detail will only show 0 in the Video views section.
Dashboard
Video views widget The widget will no longer include carousel video views.
Content widget The Video view count metric will start to show 0.
