This section describes features that are only available within the Emplifi's early access program.
You can use your account's custom metrics when you build a widget on a dynamic board, in any widget format.
Before you begin
-
Custom metrics is a paid add-on. To activate it, contact your Customer Success Manager or Emplifi Support.
-
Your custom metrics must already be set up. Emplifi's engineers prepare them for you based on your specifications — you cannot create them yourself.
-
Custom widgets are only supported on your own boards.
Add a custom metric to a widget
-
Open the custom board where you want the widget, or click New and then Create a board.
-
Click Add widget, then click Build your own widget.
-
Name your widget.
-
Click Select metric, select Post level, then find the Custom Metric section.
-
Select the custom metric you want to visualize.
-
Select your data sources.
-
Configure the remaining details — visualization type, aggregation, breakdowns, and filters.
-
Click Create widget.
Result
Your widget appears on the board and displays data calculated by your custom metric. All widget formats are supported, including charts, table widgets, and content card widgets.
When a custom metric changes
If Emplifi updates one of your custom metrics, every widget using it is rebuilt automatically. The board version updates and you are prompted to reload the board to see the current data.
When a custom metric is removed or disabled
A custom metric that is no longer available is highlighted in the metric picker with a warning. Widgets already using that metric show an empty state instead of data.
To fix an affected widget, edit it and select a different metric.
Limitations
-
Custom metrics work on the post level only.
-
Custom metrics are not available yet when you generate a widget with a prompt or AI.
