Copy a Dashboard to Unified Analytics

You can easily copy your dashboards to Unified Analytics and speed up your migration to Unified Analytics or refine your analytics.

Before migration

When you copy a dashboard into Unified Analytics, this is what to expect:

• Only the dashboard structure, widgets, and widget filters are migrated. After the board appears in the My Boards section, you will have to:

  • select data sources

  • adjust aggregation

  • re-apply report scheduling settings

• Some dashboard widgets may not work yet in Unified Analytics.

• The imported board will be private until you decide to share it.

• A dashboard entity corresponds to what in Unified Analytics is known as saved view of a board.

Copy a dashboard

To export a dashboard into Unified Analytics, follow these steps.

1. Open the dashboard that you want to migrate.

2. Click Export, then click Copy to Unified Analytics.

3. Review the notes and click Copy dashboard.

4. When the copy process stops

   • click Open board in the pop-up modal…

   • …or navigate to Unified Analytics > My boards and open the board that you just copied.

Review the new board

The dashboards that you export from the Dashboard module end up in Unified Analytics > My boards.

After you import a board, perform the following actions:

• select the data sources

• adjust the time range

• adjust aggregation

• review non-compatible widgets

What is copied to Unified Analytics

When you use Copy to Unified Analytics, supported Dashboard widgets are added to a Unified Analytics board. A widget is copied when its widget type is supported and its chart can be converted. The metric name does not control that decision.

Each copied widget uses the data source and date range on the Unified Analytics board. The copy does not include Dashboard data sources, the Dashboard date range, or scheduling.

What is copied

The copy includes the following:

• The widget title.

• The widget position on the board. The copy adjusts column widths to the Unified Analytics grid.

• A section heading, as the heading text only.

• The metric for that widget type.

• The aggregation on that metric. A custom metric is copied without an aggregation.

• Filters that can be mapped to Unified Analytics. Filters that are not copied are listed under Filters that are not copied.

• Breakdowns. Some breakdown names change. For example, sentiment of comments becomes sentiment.

• Business hours, when that option is turned on for the widget.

Datasets

These datasets can be copied:

• Post-level

• Profile-level

• Paid

• Community

• Listening

Charts

These charts can be copied:

• Value, line, bar, and stacked bar.

• A pie chart. A pie chart broken down by date is copied as a bar chart.

• A line chart with no date breakdown. It is copied as a bar chart.

• Organic content cards for Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, and Snapchat.

What is not copied

These widgets are not copied:

• Care widgets. Care data is not part of this conversion.

• Sent surveys, Answered surveys, and Survey response rate.

• Any widget type that is not supported, including a retired widget that is still on an older dashboard.

• Area, scatter, and multi-bar charts.

• A widget saved as a table, or as a table with dimensions.

• Ads content cards. The content card supports organic platforms only, so an ads content card is not copied.

Filters that are not copied

The widget is still copied. These filters are not included.
