Incentivized Reviews
A review is considered incentivized any time the author received a benefit in exchange for writing the review.
In Ratings & Reviews, reviews can get marked as incentivized a variety of ways. Some of these ways include:
The shopper selects the sweepstakes opt-in checkbox when submitting a review
The shopper submits a review through the Review Incentives program
An integration with a customer loyalty platform, such as CrowdTwist, indicates that the review was incentivized
You Send Review Emails Yourself and include the

parameter or include theincentiveType
field in the order payloadYou use the Ratings & Reviews API to create a review and set the

When importing historical reviews, the
incentivized
field is marked astrue
Incentivized reviews are clearly marked as such in Emplifi widgets. To change the wording of the text that identifies incentivized reviews, talk with your Customer Success Manager.
When should reviews be marked as incentivized?
To comply with FTC guidance, product reviews should be marked as incentivized when the review author receives any benefit in exchange for writing the review.
